Before retiring to Southport, I was a psychotherapist in Raleigh for 20 years. My first drawing lesson was fifteen years ago in night classes at Meredith College. I then studied privately for two years at Artspace in Raleigh. I have taken more than a dozen week long workshops - most notably with Don Andrews, Louise Cadillac, Miles Batt, Skip Lawrence, Polly Hammett, Alex Powers, and John Salminen.

For the last six years I have studied art fundamentals, drawing, and painting in weekly classes with Rusty Hughes in Southport. My continuing interest in psychology is now expressed by trying to capture mood and feeling with paint and paper.
